Plaintiffs in error James Lee Lampkins, his sister Melvatean (hereinafter referred to as the defendants), and James Cook were arrested on November 21, 1968. They were charged with the crimes of first-degree murder, attempted murder and armed robbery, in violation of secs. 940.01, 939.32 and 943.32, Stats., respectively, and convicted following a jury trial. Defendants trials were consolidated.
